Several projects were completed, including repairing the roof, cleaning the parking lot, refreshing the landscaping, refurbishing patio furniture, updating the deck, and annual cleaning of the furniture, carpets, and floors. We wanted to do something for active members to get them excited about the chapter house, so we decided to create an outdoor space that would invite the girls to socialize with each other. Hence, the new couches, tables, beautiful rugs, and throw pillows to create a more inviting indoor and outdoor space. We also had lighting installed to add ambience to the deck. We took one of the loveseats from the deck and placed it off the dining room to allow an additional outdoor space. The four-top table and chairs were sanded and repainted to create another quiet study area outside the dining area. We added cushions to the chairs and put a planter on the wall to give it more privacy. The six-top table and chairs were moved to the north front porch to give the women an additional study area that is in the shade. Recruitment was very successful, as we welcomed 41 new members to the sisterhood. Active members have been working very hard to show them what our sisterhood is all about. There was a slumber party planned for the last weekend of September for new members to get to know one another. Then, they experienced the philanthropic Alzheimer's Walk with all the sisters back in the house. This school year is promising to be a good and bonding year for all. Several of the seniors have stepped up to mentor our younger sisters. All of this makes me very proud to say I am a Sigma Kappa! In Sigma, Christine Stoecker Watson '83 House Corporation Board President Beta Sigma Chapter Living with Heart Sisters Welcomed by a Refreshed Chapter House
