January 5-11, 2020 Dave & Buster's: Games, great food and sports bar, all under one roof B ack in the late 1970s, Buster opened a restaurant known for its tasty food and friendly service. A few doors down, Dave opened an outrageous place for entertainment and games where adults were irresistibly drawn for fun. The two young entrepreneurs noticed people rotating between their establishments, and an idea started to form: what if they put both under one roof? The two young men headed to "Restaurant Row" in Dallas where they found an empty 40,000 square-foot warehouse. Dave and Buster dove headlong into construction of their first location. With Dave's name first because he won a coin toss, they opened the first Dave & Buster's in December 1982. Fast forward to today, there are over 110 locations throughout the country. The Dave & Buster's location in Rogers however is relatively new, which is a little odd considering the fact that both Dave and Buster are Arkansas natives. "The original Dave & Buster's concept was actually conceived here in Arkansas," General Manager of the Rogers location Jason Melcher explained. "But for some reason they didn't actually open a location in Arkansas until about 2 years ago with one in Little Rock and our location here in Rogers." The Dave & Buster's in Rogers is a little smaller than many of the other locations residing in the big cities like Dallas and Los Angeles. Many of the more urban Dave & Buster's are a little more adult-centered, too, but the one here in Northwest Arkansas likes to split the focus offering both the adult and family experience. "We want to be family friendly during the day but as we move into night we offer an adult experience with our bar and sports events," Melcher said. "We probably have the best environment in the area for watching sports with our massive HDTVs with epic stadium sound." Customers can view all of the major fights and sporting events including NFL games and, of course, the Razorbacks. The events often come with special offers, too. Right now on game days, Sunday, Monday and Thursday, you can get unlimited wings and unlimited play on blue light video games for only $19.99.
