And while the dialog may be a little cheesy in parts and there is some overacting, there's no denying the tidal wave scene was pretty impressive – especially by early 1970s standards. "When Harry Met Sally" (1989) Longtime friends played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan finally became lovers in a climactic New Year's Eve scene in Rob Reiner's superb though chatty romantic comedy. It took years of denial and dating others for these former college pals to finally wake up and see what was right in front of them.
