April 3, 2013 Month of April with Salome High By Kirshana Guy The school year at Salome High School has nearly come to an end. Most of the students have realized that the 20122013 school years have rushed by like a blink of an eye. We all remember the very first day of the school year and back to 8th grade orientation. A lot of the students are amazed that the end of the school year is only two months away. The students are bucking down to show that they are serious about their future, and that they can make a difference. The school was looking forward to the 8th Grade Orientation, and the things that we get to show the 8th graders. The Softball and Baseball teams have done a great job, and even if they have lost their first games, they have kept their heads up high. C'mon frogs you can do it! The Softball and Baseball teams have been doing their best, and have been making a big difference on getting students to put more effort into what they do. The Teams inspire others to use the lessons we learn from sports, and put them to the test in any other situation that comes up. A sport teaches us that we need the help of others to reach our goals. We may think that we can do everything on our own, but a sport helps you to grow from your insecurities. The entire school had a blast at the 8th Grade Orientation. Some students were allowed to be in classes in which they were able to tell stories of what they have accomplished in that specific class. The 8th Graders had a blast decorating their own Ice Cream, finding a Strawberry's DNA, and many of the fun things Salome High School offers. It brought joy to the students knowing that some of the 8th graders had fun and will be looking forward to their Freshman Year at Salome High School! Many may think that the school year brings nothing but fun to the students, but you can't be more wrong. The students have a busy two months ahead of them. The students are getting their grades up, and doing their best to pass classes.
