7 I had so much fun welcoming our new members this August! The whole Chapter was beyond excited to meet these women, and I loved every minute of planning as we welcomed them into Kappa Delta. We hit the ground running on Bid Day as the new member class traveled to Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Ala., for a retreat. Pursell Farms is located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and boasts beautiful facilities, a well-known golf course, and unparalleled views. Upon arrival, the ladies enjoyed a delicious dinner and our very own KΔ Cookie Class hosted by local cookie artist Kate Waddell. They were given cookies shaped like elephants and white roses with their very own decorating kits. Outside on the patio, DJ Sillz played everyone's favorite songs while they danced around and made friends in bright green cowboy hats. There was also glow-in-the-dark mini golf on the lawn after the ladies made s'mores at the fire pit. We had an absolute ball at this beautiful venue, and it was a night I hope they will always remember! The next day we traveled to Northriver Yacht Club for some relaxation by the pool! The ladies enjoyed dinner and a chocolate fountain as they continued to bond. Later that night, we held silent disco in the KΔ Chapter Room. The new members all wore green light-up headphones that played the same song. Silent discos are the newest trend, and we were the first to have one at UA. Followed by an ice cream bar upstairs, this was such a fun and laid-back way to end the night and was a highlight of recruitment! The following week, we hosted a new member sisterhood movie night on the front lawn. We invited our neighbors, Alpha Gamma Delta, to come and watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and enjoy a popcorn bar. This was a great way for our new members to bond with Alpha Gam's new members and enjoy a warm August night on our front lawn. These past few months have been a whirlwind and so much fun. I hope the new members loved it just as much as I did! It was so fun to kick off the new school year with new and exciting activities. Welcome to Kappa Delta, class of 2019! We love you already!
