page 3 Alpha Xi Delta Tradition of Academic Excellence Continues at Epsilon Undergraduate Sisters Support Autism Speaks T he undergraduate sisters of Epsilon Chapter have been focused on academics, Autism Speaks, and making a phenomenal new member class feel at home this fall. All About Academics After 24 women made the Dean's List last spring and eight sisters earned a 4.0 GPA, we've been highly motivated to build on that scholastic success. At the beginning of this semester, we rolled out a new academic plan to ensure our members are reaching their highest potential. Xingo! Alpha Xi Delta Hosts New Fall Philanthropy Event Epsilon changed things up this year for our fall philanthropy event. In years past, we have done a chili feed to raise money, but this year we hosted a bingo event called Xingo with silent auction items. Our vision was to draw out more families and students to the event to maximize donations for Autism Speaks and we had great alumnae participation to get us started. Sisters have also been participating in numerous other activities on campus, such as Dakotathon (formerly Dance Marathon), Amnesty International, and Colleges Against Cancer. Inspiration from National Convention Leads to Strong Recruitment Philanthropy Vice President Clare Fiore '18 and I attended the national convention last summer in Seattle, Washington. Our time spent with hundreds of other women was the exact inspiration we needed to bring back to the chapter to rock formal recruitment. We recruited 32 amazing new mem- bers who all have potential to help Epsilon flourish in the coming years. More Exciting Things to Come at Epsilon With elections just a short time away, I have no doubt this chapter will be left in the best of hands. Our women are truly realizing their potential and bringing out the absolute best in Epsilon. Yours in Alpha Xi, Ava Feller '18 Chapter President ava.feller@coyotes.usd.edu Ava Feller '18 and Clare Fiore '18 attend national convention.
