Gamma Crescent
I
n the fall 2019 semester, Gamma Chapter is arguably stronger than
ever. In-house numbers were a big struggle last year, having only 19
brothers living in for the spring of 2019. This year has been a different
story. Gamma Chapter is proud to have 44 in-house brothers, with 10
seniors included. Alumni involvement has been much better than in years
past as well. The relationship between the alumni and undergraduate
boards is stronger than it has been in decades. Gamma Chapter also boasts
a very strong 3.27 GPA from the spring 2019 semester, third-highest
among fraternities at PSU. The fraternities with higher GPAs had no more
than 50 members, while Gamma had over 100. Keeping the GPA so high
with such large numbers is an accomplishment we are all very proud of.
A struggle that we have faced with 44 in-house members is keeping the
house clean. With the help of some alumni—shoutout to Greek and John
Merenick '86 (Γ1236)—we had a collaborative alumni and undergraduate
work session to set a standard for house cleanliness expectations. This has
helped greatly with keeping the house in good shape.

Recruitment on
the Rise
T
his fall semester we had a greatly
successful recruitment. After going
through the whole process with zone days and
open recruitment, we gave out 10 bids and
received seven acceptances, who are all great
guys. This is a huge return and something
Gamma Chapter is immensely proud of. For
recruitment in the spring semester, I'm excited
and hopeful for another great class and high
acceptance rate under the new
VNR recruitment.

Meet Our Newest Members
Meet the new Gamma Chapter brothers.
T
his semester we have a new member class
of eight sophomores that have a range of
majors. Although this has been a smaller class
compared to the last few years, they are a great
group of men. With the current class, we have
a brotherhood of 105 men.
