GAMMA CHI CHAPTER OF SIGMA NU UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON P.O. BOX 442100 LAWRENCE, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested SIGMA NEWS W e are in our biggest recruitment quarter for Sigma Nu at UW. With UW's yearlong recruitment program, our chapter receives PNMs (potential new members) from freshmen that move into the dorms. Our focus for recruitment is our brotherhood as group of men from a variety of backgrounds that have created a tight-knit community. We display our Sigma Nu brotherhood through weekly game day barbecues, game nights, and sporting tournaments such as dodgeball and basketball. At one game day barbecue this quarter we had five bids delivered to the chapter. During dead week and midterm season, we like to reserve rooms at campus libraries and get together with perspective PNMs to study and hangout before the stressful tests to show our brotherhood and closeness as a chapter. For PNMs that are close to deciding, we host more personal, exciting events such as a brotherhood paintball outing or a fun hike with members to reiterate the brotherhood bond we hope to share. e chapter is actively participating in more recruitment events than ever, which we believe is key to making the recruitment process run smoothly. Members help set up for events, participate in events, and bring friends they met in classes and in high school whom they believe fit our values. I am excited for the path Gamma Chi Chapter is headed with motivation to grow our brotherhood. We have elected three new recruitment chairmen to help spread the workload. ese men are coming in with excitement and fresh ideas, which I believe could lead to one of the most successful member classes yet.
