The Crescent page 2 T he fall semester kicked off what looks to be a wonderful year for Tri Delta. Delta Mu Chapter has been busy participating in philanthropic, academic, and community service events. As you read on page 1, we had a fantastic formal recruitment; we are always thrilled to expand our Chapter with members from across the nation. SEASON OF GIVING To jumpstart our fall philanthropic efforts, our philanthropy chairman created a new fundraising event for St. Jude, Go Gold Go JoBros. Members sold raffle tickets to the public for a chance to win front- and second-row tickets to the Jonas Brothers. The event was held during September (which is Childhood Cancer Awareness month) and raised more than $4,000! During Homecoming we celebrated another annual GameDay Giveback, in which we hosted our families with food and live music before the game. Delta Mu members maintained their high academic marks with the Chapter GPA remaining above both the all-sorority and all- women's GPAs. We look forward to another year of academic achievement from our members and leaders. GROWING IN THE BOND This year, we are putting a significant focus on sisterhood. We are all held together by the bonds of sisterhood and are very thankful to have such an amazing member development chairman to lead us. Kristen Glowacki '17 has planned several events for the Chapter to grow and meet new people in a setting outside of Tri Delta. Some of these have included a workout class at Pure Barre Tuscaloosa, a pumpkin painting competition, and a Chapter-wide movie night (we rented out the movie theater)! We've had a wonderful semester so far. We are excited to continue growing as a Chapter in our dedication to St. Jude, academics, community involvement, and our sisterhood.
