A
nother year, another fantastic class of new
members! In August, Delta Mu welcomed 117
women to the sisterhood. Recruitment continues to be
a huge undertaking with more than 2,200 potential new
members attending. Our members, officers, advisors, and
staff did an amazing job, and all their efforts paid off!
Impressively, about one-third of this year's class had a
staggering GPA of 4.0 or higher.
For the last few years, the university has been a
hive of construction activity. Several large Greek
construction projects were finished before the fall
semester. One sorority house in particular got a
substantial addition and renovation around the same
time as our new Delta Mu House. If you have not
visited campus recently, I recommend it. You will
be proud of our beautiful university and amazed
at the numerous projects.
Because of the changing spatial needs of the
Chapter and the results of normal wear and
tear, the House Corporation is looking into
renovating the Chapter Room and basement. The members
expressed the need for more study spaces; what a wonderful
problem to have! On any given day, it is refreshing and affirming
to find so many members studying, meeting, and visiting
throughout the Tri Delta House.
Several House Corporation members toured the newer sorority
houses and met with a group of collegiate members to discuss
possible updates to the basement. In addition, we have retained
Ellis Architects, the original architect of the Tri Delta House, for
their expertise. This is an exciting and much-needed project that
will hopefully be completed during the summer of 2020.
Again, if you have not visited lately, make plans to visit Delta Mu
and the campus—you won't be disappointed!
