K appa Alpha had a great fall semester. We look forward to many heart- warming, fun-filled events as we close up the first half of the school year. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE Fall started with welcoming 42 new sisters home! Our recruitment chairman, Courtney Jones '17, led the Chapter through two weeks of hard work and dedication, bringing a great recruitment and wonderful additions to Chi Omega. Member Educator Sydney Schmanke '17 and her assistant, Tristan Rios '18, organized an incredible jungle-themed Bid Day celebration to get our new members excited about the amazing experiences to come. GIVING BACK TO MAKE-A-WISH In October, we geared up for our annual Wish Week. The week started off with a percentage night at one of our local restaurants on Sunday night and a social media contest on Monday. Selling baked goods on campus, hosting our Waffles for Wishes late-night waffle bar, and our annual Frats at Bat softball tournament rounded out the week. We were thrilled to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and all of the wonderful, well-deserving kids they support. FOCUSED ON SISTERHOOD BONDING Spending time together as sisters is extremely important to all of us at Kappa Alpha and sisterhood events are the perfect way to strengthen our Chi Omega bonds. Our new members were excited to roller skate with their class, and following the Big/Little reveal, we had our annual sisterhood event at Pottawatomie County State Lake. Thank you to our personnel chairman, Cara Unruh '17, for planning a fun evening full of games, pizza, and s'mores! FINAL FALL EVENTS Beyond sisterhood and philanthropy events, our fall included a NASCAR-themed date party, Dad's Weekend, Family Weekend, and semi-formal. We also participated in a mock trial workshop with Nationals in October and we're selecting our new executive board in November. Stay connected to us and get up-to-date information about what we're doing on campus via our social media listed on page 1. If you ever find yourself in Manhattan, we would love to meet you and show you what life at Kappa Alpha looks like today.
