CHAPTER ETERNAL Beverly Jean "Bev" Gallatin '67 entered Chapter Eternal on February 4 following a brief illness. Bev received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Iowa in 1969 and her master's in education from Illinois State University in 2000. She worked as an ICU nurse and cardiac education nurse at St. Francis and Proctor hospitals in Peoria. She was a diabetic education nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo and finished her career teaching nursing at Hawkeye Community College. Bev sang in the choirs at Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria and Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She enjoyed running and loved to be on the water. Her husband, Walter, shares, "We had been married 50-plus years; she was the love of my life and my heart aches for her more than I can describe." ALUMNAE NEWS Charlotte Penningroth Pence '44 reports she is "very active (for a 94 year old)!" She regularly attended Iowa men's and women's basketball games until January, when she broke her pelvis. She is on the mend and has moved to the penthouse at Meth-Wick in Cedar Rapids. Email: charppen@gmail.com Jaclyn Fitch Phinney '47 is 92 and in good health. She lives in a retirement facility in Minneapolis and has two children, Richard and Robin. Jackie became a great-grandmother in August. Email: jaclynphinney2015@gmail.com Jane Walker Christensen '52 is a new great- grandmother of two girls and one boy. She lives in Waterloo with her husband, Samuel. She still plays golf as much as she can. Email: jwcsoc@outlook.com Sandra Miller '57 is a retired nurse and involved in farming and selling corn and beans. She's still singing, too! She lives in West Des Moines and has three children, 10 grandchildren (one of whom joined ΔΓ), and five great- grandchildren. Mary Ellen Foss Kimball '61 is vice president of KSOI 91.9 FM Radio. She is also creating a new sculpture series (ceramic totems), served on the Des Art Center's 2019 Gala committee, and is a charter member of Women in Aviation's Heartland Chapter. Mary Ellen and her husband, James, reside in Osceola, Iowa, and have two sons, Jeffrey and Joseph. Email: kimball@iowatelecom.net Karen Countryman Cummins '62 retired in 2010 as a senior planner for the Community Planning and Building Dept. in Coralville, Iowa. She and her husband, Phillip, live in Coralville and spend part of the winter in Florida. They have a son, James, and are avid duplicate bridge players, attend political functions, and are appreciative of all the Iowa City/Coralville communities offer. She took students to Costa Rica to study health and education as a human right for a second time. Email: cyddyer@gmail.com Sherri Jensen Long, M.D. '77 works part time as a dermatologist in a private office and plans to retire in the next 8-10 years. She resides in North Oaks, Minn., with her husband, Bill. They have two children, Anna '14 and Brian; Anna is a recent National Fraternity collegiate development consultant. Email: sherrbilllong@comcast.net Kristin Forney Wing '80 is the marketing director for Mize Houser & Co. She lives in Leawood, Kan., with her husband, David, and has two daughters. "Best job? Grandma to Zoey, Maddie, and Brooklyn—three future legacies." Kristin serves on the Kansas City DG executive board, the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault, and is a founding member of the MOKAN Women's Leadership Forum. She is also an avid fly-fisherwoman and tennis player. Christy Wiederhold O'Gara '87 is CFO-VP of Integritas Insurance Group. She lives in Phoenix, Ariz., with her husband, Chris, and has six children. "Delta Gamma holds a special place in my heart. As I see my own children journey into the college years and beyond, ΔΓ sisterhood reminds me of the family feeling I had during a precious time in my journey. I am forever grateful for all ΔΓs I've met." Email: cmogara@cox.net Nicole Etter Judd '96 ran her third half IRONMAN in September and is excited to come back to Des Moines for their inaugural 70.3 in June 2020. A half IRONMAN consists of a 1.2- mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1-mile run. Nicole lives in Shawnee, Kan. The family lives in Wilmette, Ill., and spends time in the summer on their boat.
