A
lpha Chapter recently finished a successful recruitment. e chapter
gave out five bids this fall, all of which were signed. Campus wide, we
had one of the highest numbers of bids signed. In addition, the chapter is
ramping up efforts to begin deferred freshman recruitment. ere will be
tabling and outreach events over the next few months to get acquainted
with freshmen in preparation for their recruitment.
Overall, the future of the Alpha Chapter is promising. Philanthropy and
community service remain a priority. The annual cleanup of Oakwood
Cemetery will soon take place, and a "Dog Days of Finals" event is in
the works.
Alpha Chapter has cleverly combined career development and community
service, holding events for the RPI student body in preparation for the
Arch program and entering the working world. Alumnus Rich Lotti
'78 (A1170) spoke with RPI students at the chapter house about Arch,
possibilities for job placement following the Arch, as well as general
career advice. Richard is the CEO of two Silicon Valley-based medical
device companies and serves as the Arch coordinator for that region. This
expertise is a crucial resource to the brotherhood as unprecedented levels
of uncertainty remain regarding the impact of Arch on our brothers.
Our chapter will continue to present itself as a fraternity that values career
development. One initiative indicative of that goal is the development of
our alumni network database, which will keep track of alumni that active
brothers can reach out to for job placement. We appreciate all the help
this semester and hope that through our increased presence as a valuable
Arch resource, recruitment for the spring semester can reach new heights.
Yours in the Bonds,
