The Quartzsite Historical Society will host a Free Histori- cal Sites PIONEER TOUR for Buck Connors Western Days Saturday, No- vember 9th. Registration begins at 8:30am. Meet at Community Center, 295 E. Chandler St. Then we will get in our cars or ATVs and move to the next locations. Most locations are wheelchair accessable. There will be 11 stops along the route starting and ending at the Park. Bring a chair, water, camera. You can always have lunch at the park following the tour. Transfer station on Winter hours The Quartzsite Transfer Station is now on their WINTER hours. They are open Sunday thru Wednes- day, 7:30am to 2:30pm. The transfer station is locat- ed north of Town, just off Hwy. 95, near the Sewer Treatment Plant. I know this is a busy week-end in Quartzsite, but, between our loyal bell ringers and VFW Freedom Riders we will participate as fi rst time participants. Stop and say, "Hi" if in Parker. We are also recruiting for our in- town Bell Ringers too. Stop in and get an application. We have a new location, Park Place Travel Center ARCO on Riggles Avenue. You pick your day and time then have fun. We are also going to have Kettle Pay stickers for Smart Phone payment on our kettles- going high tech…. will see how that works-donations I understand go to your home base and not here locally. Details later. We have a fundraising display for QPD "No Shave November" sup- porting Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We have a beautiful handmade child's lap quilt with Davy Crockett western theme that we will raffl e for this cause. We welcome two new volunteers; Earl and Mary. Welcome to our "framily". They both have been very busy and so very helpful. It will soon that busy Christmas season. Seems like it was just 100 plus degrees. Our porch is beauti- fully decorated by our Christmas Carole with so many beautiful items for your decorating needs. Come see and get in the holiday spirit. We have several racks inside and outside of Christmas theme clothing, too. We will soon be starting to take names for our Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. Families that need a hand up to make Christmas special for their children ages 15 and under, can come in and sign up. Please know your child's clothing sizes. That re- ally helps the Angel Tree assistants and Angel Tree shoppers. Thanks. Our Santa Visit Event will be on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Kid- dos can have photo with Santa and visit Santa's toy shop and pick out new toys, games, socks, pajamas, coats, hoodies, etc. It is a fun time for all ages. We will return to our winter hours starting Tuesday, November 12, 2019. We will change our hours to 9:00 to 1:00 Tuesday through Saturday. Al- ways closed Sunday and Monday. Free trash and household goods disposal, however NO TIRES NO HAZARDOUS WASTE! NO VEHICLE BATTERIES! For ONE DAY ONLY: US Fuel oil, LLC will be onsite to accept USED MOTOR OIL, Thursday, Nov. 14th at Quail Trail & Moon Mt. Ave. If you need help or cannot get to the dumpsters, call Quartzsite Town Hall at 928-927-4333 to arrange a free pick on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
