Celebration of
Life planned for
Paul Winer
Nov. 24
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Paul Winer, who was one of
Quartzsite's most noted residents who died in his sleep May 7th, after a
lengthy illness at the age of 75. The public is invited to attend the Cel-
ebration to be held 1pm Sunday, November 24th at the Quartzsite
Improvement Association, located at 235 E. Ironwood Ave.
Winer was the owner of Readers Oasis Book Storewell known world-
wide as the "Naked Bookseller." He was also a Boogie Woogie Blues
musician and entertainer known as "Sweet Pie." In 1994, at the age of 8,
his daughter, Celia, died of a viral heart infection, and the Winers created
Celia's Rainbow Gardens in Quartzsite Town Park in memory of her.
The Celebration of Life will include live music, stories, and of course,
