TAU TALES Fall 2019 kualphadeltapi.com Bathroom Remodel T au women returned to a fresh, bright and newly updated basement bathroom when they arrived in August for Spirit Week. The remodel, which was one of the Corporation Board's large summer projects, was chaired by Cheri Curnutt Clatterbuck '79 and began as soon as the women moved out in May. The husband of Andrea Ricke Rector '00 owns a local company, A-Team Custom Construction, who completed the project. We continued the design style previously made in the main hall bathroom and throughout the house, with the basement bathroom now featuring clean lines and a modern color scheme of blues and grays. The basement bathroom, or the dungeon as it was once known, now features ample lighting, including can lights over each shower stall as well as new lighting as you enter the bathroom. The light plays nicely off the bright white tiles and cool gray floor. The look is tied together with stylish blue-gray striped shower curtains. It is now a modern and inviting space for chapter women to get ready for the day. Tau sisters ready for formal 2019. Tau takes 3rd on Hill for grades W ith a lot of hard work and dedication to improving overall academics, we were able to grab the third highest grades on the hill for Panhellenic women, with a 3.45 GPA. Scholarship advisor Alicia Green '98 credits several key changes to help the chapter reach the academic level they have in such a short time. In just a few semesters the women have been able to consistently raise the house GPA to a solid 3.4 from a 3.3. This has been achieved through commitment from the scholarship chairmen, who have maintained a consistent strive for excellence semester over semester, even when the role has passed from one sister to another. "The last four scholarship chairmen have worked really hard to get the chapter to buy in to the importance of scholarship and work closely with women who are struggling academically to help put them on a more positive path," Alicia said. She went on to say that additional changes from Executive Office in the area of scholarship have been helpful in improving academic performance.
