W e celebrated our centennial just over a year ago by welcoming home hundreds of Alpha Beta sisters. What a wonderful party it was! Thank you for joining in on the fun! There is no doubt that the chapter's experiences and expectations change from generation to generation, but we are all united in the bond of sisterhood in Alpha Chi Omega. This year, the festivities continue as Purdue celebrates its sesquicentennial anniversary, 150 Years of Giant Leaps, honoring the evolution of space exploration, artificial intelligence, research advances in science and sustainability. Those giant leaps were legendary, but small steps were also an important part of Neil Armstrong's moon landing and the lifework of our sister, Janet Shearon Armstrong '53. So, let's take a cue from the Armstrongs as we step from our past century of vision, dedication, leadership and excellence that was nurtured by our Alpha Beta Founders, and move forward into this next century. Through small steps, we will continue to provide a cutting-edge educational, safe, environmental savvy, beautiful home. With you as mentors and supporters, our women can excel in all aspects of life while keeping hearts and values consistent with the goals of our sisterhood. We so appreciate the loyal giving to our Alpha Beta Centennial Campaign and all the improvements we were able to make to the chapter house. As you plan your end-of-the- year giving, know there is an opportunity this year to designate a gift to the Alpha Beta Educational Fund through the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Designate the fund in the memo if you plan to contribute. Donations will fund more tables and chairs in the library as well as updates to the second and third floor study rooms. These projects qualify for tax- deductible reimbursement. Any amount will be accepted and appreciated. (Remember...we are fans of small steps!) One hundred years ago and one hundred years from now, we are all sisters. We are Real. Strong. Women. We are Alpha Beta. We will continue to plan, prosper, persevere and unify this great place we were so lucky to call home. Together let us seek the heights.
