FALL 2019
The
O
nce again, the Missouri Alpha alumni weekend on September 20-21
was a great success. The weekend kicked off with the alumni golf
tournament at the Country Club of Columbia and many new faces showed
up to play, including Mark Ladd '98, Eric Post '98, Jeremy Ryan '98,
Brad Lewis '98, Gene Cullman '67, and Dom Caldarello '14.
DAY 1: MO ALPHA GOLF TOURNAMENT
The reigning champion, Jeff Wasson '95, returned this year to defend
his Phrogg cup title. After an inspiring and charismatic inception speech,
Jeff ceremonially teed off and drove the green. It seemed the champ
might repeat his dominant performance from last year. Well, no one saw it
coming, but Jeremy Ryan '98 would have something to say about that!
Jeremy birdied the first hole and held a commanding lead after the first
nine. He held off a late surge by Gene Cullman and took the cup with a
12 under par. Until that day the thought of taking home the Phrogg cup
was merely a dream to him. Congratulations, Jeremy!
DAY 2: MIZZOU FOOTBALL TAILGATE
On Saturday, Chris Crocker '96 sponsored the alumni tailgate at the
MU game. The South Carolina Gamecocks were in town and several
Phis showed up to cheer on the Tigers. Following the game, brothers
celebrated the 34-13 victory at Shiloh Bar and Grill. Many stories were
told, and the undergraduate brothers led alumni in Phi song to end a
spectacular reunion. What a great weekend—thanks to all the alumni who
joined us this year!
A WORD FROM THE HOUSE CORPORATION AND
CHAPTER ADVISORY BOARD
It has been a great year thus far for MO Alpha. We are very proud of
the undergraduate chapter for a successful fall recruitment and their
philanthropic and academic efforts and achievements on campus. Our
facilities are in great shape, the house is full, and MO Alpha remains at
the top amongst fraternities at Mizzou. Congratulations, undergraduate
brothers!
We are excited to remind alumni that Missouri Alpha celebrates its 150th
anniversary in November of 2020. The chapter is planning events and will
be in touch with a schedule of celebration. It would be great to see alumni
join us for this historic anniversary and proudly celebrate 150 years of
MO Alpha. Stand by for details in newsletters and emails. Thank you for
all of your support!
