10 Lyre Notes ALUMNAE NEWS LoVene Kraus Claypole '50 lives in Springfield, Mo., and is enjoying life at 89 years old. She recently received her 60-year ΑΧΩ pin. She keeps busy by visiting presidential libraries and has already been to the Clinton, Truman, Carter, Johnson, Reagan and Nixon libraries. She looks forward to her next visits to George H.W. and George W. Bush libraries. Sue James Daniel '54 is recently retired with her husband of 61 years in Bound Brook, N.J. They love to spend the winter months in San Diego, visiting their daughter. As time passes, she still has fond memories of her days in the ΑΧΩ chapter house. Elizabeth Bonfoey Brown '57 enjoys retirement. She recently attended a family reunion in Florida with family from Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska and Georgia. There were 24 family members in total with ages ranging from 10 months to 84 years. Beautiful weather, wonderful family and seeing a launch from Cape Canaveral made for a great trip. Email: hmpetersen1@aol.com Cherry Bittleit Daniel '64 still enjoys working, loves gardening and visiting her daughter and her husband and four grandchildren in Delta, Colo. Her son, Dan, is expecting his first son with wife, Sarah, in addition to having a 12-year-old stepson, Noah. Cherry resides in Oceanside, Calif. Email: cherrydan1@cox.net Janine Boals Hook '65 lives in Ridgefield, Wash., and spends her days playing tennis three times a week, volunteering at the local hospital and enjoying time with her grandchildren, Madison and Kennedy. Gail Goetze Kervatt '65 is the author of The Silence Within: A Teacher/Parent Guide to Helping Shy and Selectively Mute Children and lives in Oak Ridge, N.J. She ran the New Jersey Parent/Teacher Support Group for 20 years. She is the past vice president and conference speaker for the International Selective Mutism Association. Email: kervatt@optonline.net Patricia Bayers Kane '67 is enjoying retired life with her wife, Mary Kathryn, at their waterfront condo in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Both of her daughters and son live close by, so she gets to enjoy time with them and her two grandchildren. Kay Eckert Burnett '71 retired from her career in public relations after her third child was born. Since then, she has assisted her husband in his business as well as managing her own small company that specializes in newsletters and brochures for homeowner's associations and political campaigns. She's also volunteered for local youth groups. Kay now enjoys serving as a small property manager. Kay and her husband reside in Lake Forest, Calif. Deirdre Hirner '72 is principal of Hirner Law Associates and lives in Jefferson City, Mo., with her spouse, Chuck Giger. She belongs to Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoys singing in the choir, teaching bible school and caring for the altar. Catherine also loves belonging to a health club, gardening, reading, crafts, hiking with her husband when they travel and watching Mizzou sports. She would love to meet up with Alpha Chis. Email: d_sokolow@msn.com Kimberly Nixon Daniel '79 and her husband, Tony, married after college. They have two children, Kristin and Carrington. Kristin is married and has a little girl, Kaldwell. Carrington is married and has a daughter, Linden, and a son, Lawson. Kimberly writes, "Being Mimi is the best gig I have ever had!" Kimberly has been in the insurance industry since graduation. She became a business owner in 1997 and acquired her second location in 2018. Kimberly and Tony live in Kahoka, Mo. They like improving their home, road trips and listening to records while grilling on their deck with some combination of their five kids visiting them in Holt. Mo. Not only did Vicki enjoy her college days as an Alpha Chi at the University of Missouri, but both her daughters are now official Alpha Chi alumnae. Her older daughter, Taylor Holmes, graduated in May 2017 from the University of Texas-Austin, Alpha Phi Chapter, and her younger daughter, Madison Holmes, graduated from the University of Alabama, Alpha Upsilon Chapter, in May 2019. Vicki writes, "Huge heartfelt thanks to all the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega for taking such good care of these women!" Vicki lives in Overland Park, Kan.
