Movies Movies Movies Movie Movie 329 553 HOLLYWOOD Q&A BY ADAM THOMLISON TV Media Q: Season 3 of "Dr. Pimple Popper" began in mid-July, but the "season" only ap- peared to be three or four shows long, plus maybe one or two more that recycled previous shows with a few new minutes added in. Will more of Season 3 be forth- coming? And if not, will there be a Season 4? A: You're absolutely right that Season 3 was particularly short, but no one's saying why. And no one's saying, yet, whether there will be a Season 4. It seems like a safe bet, though — "Dr. Pimple Popper" has been a big hit for TLC. And you can take some com- fort from the fact that the wait for new episodes probably won't be long. One of the potential rea- sons that the season was so short is that the show doesn't have seasons in the traditional sense — the breaks so far have only been six months long. That means Season 4 is due in about three months. But that's assuming it sticks to a schedule, and the whole prob- lem here is that reality shows, TLC ones in particular, don't tend to do that. The first season of "Dr. Pimple Popper" had six episodes, the second season had 10, and this third season was back to six — but it was really just four with two repeat epi- sodes featuring "bonus footage." There was also a Christmas spe- cial in December. That last fact leads to anoth- er reason TLC has gotten away with such a short season — continued on page T14
