OCTOBER 4 - NOVEMBER 9 HamLIT Various locations Sure, it's "Hamlet" but it's Sweet Tea Shakespeare's own unique version of the tragedy so, in addition to a legit representation of what the Bard wrote, they'll be throwing in improv com- edy, audience participation and drink- ing games. OCTOBER 5 Homecoming Fayetteville State University A week of activities leads up to this big day, which will start at 9 a.m. with the always fun Homecoming Parade, fol- lowed by a 2 p.m. football game against Chowan University and finally a 7 p.m. concert. Queen Nation Givens Performing Arts Center This tribute band does a 90-minute production of Queen's greatest hits and is said to replicate Queen's sound, appearance and stage persona with amazing accuracy. OCTOBER 11-13 Indigo Moon Film Festival Downtown Fayetteville This three-day festival will feature more than 60 films from 27 countries. The opener will be "The Dog Doc," a docu- mentary about a veterinarian who uses holistic treatments on animals given up on by others. Sandhills Heart Walk Festival Park Raise funds and awareness for a good cause while taking a walk through downtown Fayetteville. The walk sup- ports the American Heart Association's mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Kathryn's Annual High Tee Gates Four Golf & Country Club This event, in its second year, consists of a golf tournament and a High Tea (the latter for those who don't like to golf). It raises money for a scholarship honoring Kathryn Bailey, a Fayetteville native and Army first lieutenant who was killed in a Blackhawk helicopter crash in August 2017.
