20 | October 2019 It's a vine time to visit a winery There are numerous wineries and vineyards in southeastern North Carolina. Most welcome visitors and several are holding special events this month. Take the annual North Carolina Grape Festival at Lu Mil Vineyard in Elizabethtown. is is the 13th year of the festival. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 12. Activities include free wine tastings, food trucks and a grape stomping competition with cash prizes. Time to channel your inner Lucy and Ethel! For information about the festival, other events and Lu Mil, check @LuMilVineyard on Facebook. Or Cypress Bend Vineyards in Wagram, which has live music and dancing on Friday nights all year long. Cypress Bend's gates for Jazzy Fridays open at 6 p.m. and the band plays from 7-10 p.m. Food is also available. Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery in Elizabethtown will hold music or trivia events on ursday evenings, including an "extravaganza" on Halloween, which falls on a ursday this year.
