Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta.
Alumni On The Go
A
s our newest house mom began her adventure with
the OSU Betas, Kathy expressed to the executive
board and chapter members that she really wanted the
Betas to choose her new title. Terms of endearment,
like the nickname "Kitzi," which her grandfather called
her, made names more meaningful. Before nightfall, the
Betas returned with their choice for branding her and
"Mom K" came into existence.
Kathy comes to OSU and fraternity life with a big heart
for university students. Kathy spent almost 10 years of
her career working in student development at Southern
Nazarene University as the vice president of community
life. Her past experiences with college-age students,
event planning, student government and leadership, and
residence life drew her to the house mom position.
Kathy's careers and charitable involvements have
typically included working with people and in creative
outlets. Her most recent experiences include performing
dramas with a traveling conference, event planning,
design work, and helping establish water wells in
Africa. Also, she has been volunteering weekly at a
local food pantry, serving children with special needs,
and participating in various mission trips. Kathy is a
follower of Christ and an active member in her church.
She looks forward to finding places in Stillwater
to serve.
In closing, Mom K shares, "I look forward to sharing
life with my Beta 'sons' and cheering on the next
generation of difference-makers!"
