I was so honored to represent the Colorado Alpha Chapter at the 72nd Biennial Convention in Washington, D.C., this summer! It was an amazing experience that I will never forget! It was truly incredible to be with over 1,000 Pi Phis of all ages, from all over, singing our Pi Phi songs, sharing stories and creating memories. I made connections with new friends and discovered how much we have in common as sisters and as Pi Phi leaders. One of the most eye-opening experiences for me was recognizing how much bigger Pi Phi is than I realized. It's easy to be focused on what we're doing locally within the Colorado Alpha Chapter, but the reality is that Pi Phis everywhere are doing incredible things every day! I also was impacted by the number of alum- nae — from every age group — who are still involved in so many ways. Seeing this involvement really helped our core value of Lifelong Commitment resonate with me. Attending convention was such a special experience, filled with memories, learning and growth. A moment that stood out to me was having the opportunity to carry the Colorado Alpha Chapter banner. This was part of a tradition that takes place every convention, where the chapter president, or a representative, presents their chapter's banner and carries it through the main ballroom. It was an overwhelming and exciting experience, and I enjoyed getting to represent my chapter, as well as Pi Phi as a whole. It was such a meaningful moment, and something I will never forget. If you didn't catch the Facebook Live event, check out the Pi Beta Phi Headquarters Facebook page to see our Pi Phi pride on full display during the Parade of Chapter Banners! While there was a lot of fun and friendship, we also conducted the busi- ness of the Fraternity by voting on several legislative changes. Perhaps the most significant one was the vote to change the organizational officer structure of Pi Phi. The new structure was implemented immediately for the alumnae officers who were slated, and implementation for chapters and Alumnae Advisory Committee positions will occur in the fall during chapter elections. Convention also offered some training opportunities, and I'm excited to share what I learned with our entire chapter. It was fun to brainstorm with other collegians and learn what works well for other chapters and to share knowledge from our chapter with them. I heard a variety of ideas from other chapter leaders on how they are working to have their chapter be united and involved. It motivates and encourages me to come back with new ideas regarding the overall experience as a chapter member. In particular, I want to get more Colorado Alpha members excited about our philanthropy and help them find or develop a deeper passion for service. I kept hearing that Convention 2019 would be "monumental," and it was in so many ways!
