With fall fast approaching, I wanted to update everybody on our plans for football tailgates and Parents and Alumni Weekend. We will be building off the events of last fall by hosting our biggest home game tailgates at the Chapter House with a cash bar. Plans are still in the works, but here's what we have so far. The Alabama Beta undergraduates are looking forward to hosting Parents and Alumni Weekend on September 20-21. It will begin Friday evening with a band party at the Chapter House (band TBD). On Saturday morning, we'll have breakfast at the Chapter House before the game against Southern Miss since it will most likely be an 11 a.m. kickoff. The Crimson Tide will play their first SEC home game of the season the following weekend against Ole Miss on September 28. Our tailgate will be highlighted by a performance from Old South Band. After a bye week and road game against Texas A&M, the Crimson Tide will return to Bryant- Denny Stadium to take on Tennessee on October 19. Jackson Highway will perform at the tailgate. Tuscaloosa will be the place to be on October 26, as Alabama welcomes Arkansas to town for Homecoming Weekend. Alabama Beta is excited about The Bungalow Boys playing for the Homecoming tailgate. One of the Crimson Tide's biggest games of the year is set for November 9 with a home tilt against LSU. The band for the LSU tailgate will be The Vegabonds. The executive board and AVC are excited about this semester's schedule of events. It looks to be one of the most fun semesters this Chapter has put together. I can't wait to see everybody again this fall.
