Dr. Stephen L. Vance is joining
Pinehurst Surgical in August as
a surgeon fellowship-trained in
Mohs Surgery, the most effective
treatment for certain skin cancers.
Dr. Vance is a certified diplo-
mate of the American Board of
Dermatology. He recently com-
pleted a year-long fellowship
in Micrographic Surgery and
Dermatologic Oncology at the
University of Iowa Hospitals and
Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Dr. Vance, a Morehead-Cain
Scholarship recipient, earned his
undergraduate and medical de-
grees at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and was
awarded full scholarships for
both. He earned a Master of Busi-
ness Administration degree in
Health Sector Management from
Duke University, where he was a
Fuqua Scholar.
He completed his dermatology
residency at New York Presbyte-
rian at Columbia University Medi-
cal Center in New York City.
Dr. Vance has published articles
in leading dermatologic surgery
journals and a book chapter on
cutaneous oncology in a medical
textbook.
His personal interests include
sports and cooking. Dr. Vance is
looking forward to settling in and
serving the community.
