This is when the moon
hearalds the flowers for
spring. Also called the
Sprouting Grass Moon,
Egg Moon, Fish Moon.
Flower Moon
May
Flowers spring forth in
abundance this month.
Also called the corn
planting month.
Buck Moon
July
At this time, a buck's
antlers are in full growth
mode. Also called the
thundermoon due to all
the thunderstorms.
Sturgeon Moon
August
Most of the Sturgeon were
caught during this full
moon. Also call Green
Corn moon.
Corn Moon
September
This moon corresponds
with the time of harvest-
ing. Also called the barley
moon. TIme to harvest.
Hunter Moon
October
This is the month the
leaves are falling and the
game is fattened. Time
for hunting and storing
up provisions for the long
winter ahead. Also called
the travel moon.
Beaver Moon
November
For both the colonists and
local tribes, this was the
time to set beaver traps
before the swamps froze,
to ensure a supply of
warm winter furs. Also
called the frost moon.
Cold Moon
December
This is the month where
the winter cold fastens its
grip and the nights
become long and dark.
Also has also been called
long nights moon.
