made until damage and professional cleaning costs have been deducted at
the end of the spring term.
7. Review the building insurance and property taxes at a minimum of once
every other year to see if either can be successfully lowered and to make
sure policies are adequate to cover any losses.
8. Implement check-in and checkout procedures for the beginning and end of
each semester/academic year. This will ensure undergraduate women leave
their rooms in the same condition as they found them. A similar procedure
should be established for the common areas of the chapter house.
9. Pennington & Company recommends having the house professionally
cleaned a minimum of once a year, preferably at the beginning of each
summer.
E. Subsequent steps
Should Mississippi Beta choose to proceed with a capital campaign, the following
tasks must be completed—with the assistance of Pennington & Company—prior to
major solicitation efforts:
1. Develop and adopt the recommendations outlined in this report.
2. Develop plans to align with the fundraising goal and develop a financial
plan to illustrate how the project will be completed through a combination
of fundraising and financing.
3. Recruit the campaign chairmen and other campaign leadership.
4. Refine the case statement and begin preparing a campaign promotional
brochure. This brochure will be used as a basis for the final printed brochure
for the public phase of the campaign.
5. Prepare a written campaign plan that outlines the course of action by which
the funds are to be raised. This campaign plan is primarily for internal use
to accomplish several important objectives:
a. To provide a summary of the needs for which the funds will be used
(case statement);
b. To state the basic campaign premises, assumptions, policies, budget,
and procedures;
