Y our alumni association presidents for the last 15 years thank and congratulate our alumni for the tremendous work you've done and success we've collectively enjoyed. It's been an exciting journey. We revitalized our alumni association, transformed our active chap- ter, listed our house on the National Register of Historic Places, celebrated a 150th anniversary banquet with 250 Alpha brothers, hosted eta Xi's 150th anniversary convention, and are near- ing the conclusion of a historic and transforma- tive house renovation campaign. We've succeeded beyond expectations and it's time to transition to our next phase: refocus- ing on supporting our active chapter, enhancing alumni/active engagement, and developing our long-term plan to prepare for the 100-year an- niversary of our house in 2031. Kitchen Renovation to Serve as Final Project We will close out this chapter with one more rally to complete our plan. We will perform one last transformative renovation project, bringing our well-worn kitchen up to the standards we've raised in the other public areas of our chapter home. It will include the last major public area structural repairs, finish our plumbing and public area electrical upgrade, address remain- ing safety concerns, upgrade functionality and hygienic design, and return our kitchen to its original layout. You may recall that the kitchen was included in our initial plan and this would close out those goals. A combination of inflation (we started in 2010), expensive surprises found during renova- tions, and creeping requirements of RPI, Troy City inspectors, and our insurance provider added expensive investment re- ALPHA CHAPTER OF THETA XI SPRING 2019 ALPHABET Closing Alpha's Most Successful Capital and Construction Campaign Since 1931 quirements over the last five years. Challenge Campaign to Help Close Balance A small group of alumni who fulfilled their orig- inal pledges have pledged $50,000 in matching funds to get us one third of the way there before we even start (details on page 3). Let's round up our brothers and meet this last call. If you have given, thank you. If you've fulfilled your original pledges, please join your brothers in extending those pledges a little bit more by adding two or more years to your five-year pledge. If you've pledged but have not yet fulfilled your full pledge, please consider funding as soon as you are able. If you've not yet donated, please join your nearly 200 alumni who have done their part to advance our cause. As a brotherhood Alpha can again rise to the occasion and exceed everyone's expecta- tions. Join us, brothers, and let us together em- brace, live, and build our enduring legacy as the Alpha Chapter of eta Xi fraternity.
