Helen Hacke McCarthy '40 moved to
Plymouth, Mass., to be near her daughter, Deb.
Deb is a sister of Xi Chapter.
Laura Piccirillo Waste '45 lives at the Vi, a
retirement community in Palo Alto, Calif. She
keeps busy with lectures, programs, and a new
activity, ceramics. "Now I make all my family's

Karen Andersen Hannon '53 has four
daughters, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-
grandchildren. Her husband, Murray, passed
away in April 2018. Karen lives in Fairfax

Linda O'Connor Govan '59 celebrated her
80th birthday with her husband of 48 years,
Gregory, their five children and their spouses,
14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Heather McCune Thompson '59 traveled
somewhere every month in 2018, trying to
reduce the number of locations on her bucket
list. She traveled to many places within the
U.S., as well as the Panama Canal, France, and
the Baltic. Heather lives in Merced, Calif., and

Patricia Yim Cowett '66 moved to Santa
Monica, Calif., to be closer to two of her three
granddaughters. She currently works part time
as a mediator/arbitrator after 21 years as a state

Wendy Camp '67 retired in 2018 from 47
years of operating room nursing; her final 10
years were as a first assistant in the OR. Her
son, Colin, is married, and Wendy has three
grandchildren from him. Her daughter Megan
teaches at Chicago State University and has been
married for two years. Her youngest daughter,
a singer, is engaged and lives in Laguna Beach.
Wendy lives in Napa, Calif., and often visits her

Kathleen McKenna Greer '75 lost her husband
of nearly 40 years, John, in February 2018. She
has five grandchildren and lives in Alameda,

Diane E. Tussey '76 moved to Murphys, Calif.,
after retiring from the Elk Grove Unified School
District. She plays violin in two orchestras and
teaches at the Murphys School of Music, a
nonprofit to encourage music in the community.

child, Aver Lee, in 2016. She began her new job

Emma Fisher '14 completed two years of
teaching in Connecticut with Teach for America.
She taught seventh grade science in Hartford,
Conn., where she learned a lot about resilience,
leadership, and grace. Emma is now studying for
her master's in biomedical sciences at Colorado
State University. She enjoyed reconnecting with
Chi Omega sisters at Sarah Whitelock's '12
