ur nearly 4-year-old Chapter House
experiences constant renewal and
rehabilitation. More than 60 full-time
residents, along with hundreds of daily
member visits, exact a toll on our beautiful
home. Among our additions this year are new
cabinets to the serving area for storage (and
to hide some items for a better appearance).
We also bought new patio tables, chairs, and
cushions. As for repairs, we have had to fix
the air conditioning and elevator.
KEEPING THE HOUSE BEAUTIFUL
Outside the Chapter House, we routinely
replace grass and shrubs and update the
flower beds. This year, we hired Ray Jordan of
Flowerbuds in Cahaba Heights to decorate the
ΚΔ Chapter House for Christmas. We intend
to be on their calendar earlier in future years
so our members can get in the Christmas spirit
as Thanksgiving approaches and they grind
through exams.
WORKING WITH THE ACTIVE CHAPTER
The House Corporation Board continues
to get a variety of requests and opinions
about the menu from the active members:
everything from salads and vegetables to
Fried Friday. Spence Lee Stallworth '79 and
Camie Pritchard Griffin '76 invited all the
undergraduates to a meeting at the Chapter
House to discuss serving and accommodating
everyone's wishes as best we can. For instance,
we added quinoa bowls at their request. We
plan to continue meeting with the members to
best serve their wishes.
STAFF UPDATES
We are proud to announce a new House
Corporation Board member: Julia Andrews
McNair '08, Montgomery, class of 2012.
Our intent is to be varied in representation by
location and age, if possible.
The House Corporation Board is sad to
announce that Lane Reece, our current KΔ
house manager, is retiring in June. She has
served us very well for the past seven years.
We will miss her greatly and wish her all the
best in the years to come! If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact one
