Singleton was a creator and an executive producer of the show set in the mid-1980s and focusing on the roots of the dangerous crack cocaine phenomenon in South Central Los Angeles. Production of the new epi- sodes largely was completed at the time of "Boyz n the Hood" Oscar nominee Sin- gleton's death, which resulted from a stroke he suffered, last month. "Snowfall" was the major project he has been working on, though he also had directed episodes of FX's "The People v. O.J.
