6.2.2019 • Walmart Shareholders • 11 Not everyone enjoys their jobs. In fact, according to the most recent job satisfaction survey by The Conference Board, a national research association, only about half of U.S. workers are happy with their jobs. But don't count the AAA Travel agents in northwest Arkansas among them. The AAA Travel agents in AAA's Bentonville and Fayetteville offices get to help travelers plan their vacations, which they say is as rewarding as it is fun. Travelers are full of expectations for a wonderful experience, and the agents are thankful to help them on their way. "I absolutely love asking each traveler to describe what they are most excited about for their upcoming trip and making sure that experience happens for them," said AAA Travel Agent Courtney Ryan of the Bentonville office. "It's amazing to take part in helping clients make some of the most exciting memories of their lives." Elizabeth Wilson, who works alongside Ryan, started out working in AAA's Domestic Travel department, planning driving trips for travelers, before deciding to become a full-fledged travel agent. "I wanted to expand my knowledge, so it was a natural transition into international travel and becoming a travel agent," Wilson said. "I treat every trip as if it were my own. I love planning the perfect vacation for my clients. AAA Travel Agent Georgiana Domingo of the Fayetteville office explained that she became a travel agent because she enjoyed studying history, geography and other cultures when she was young. "A career in travel was just a natural fit for me," she said. "I've been involved in some aspect of the travel industry since I was in high school. I love helping people discover new places." Inspired by her father who traveled the world and brought back fascinating photos and mementos, AAA Travel Agent Dawn Lobley became an agent to discover faraway places and help others realize their travel dreams. "I really enjoy working with people, and it is satisfying to help plan their exciting vacations," said Lobley, who works in the Fayetteville office. With approximately 50 years of experience between them, the four agents have been to many of the destinations around the world that travelers want to visit, so they have firsthand knowledge. They also stay abreast of developments in the industry. "We have incredible relationships with all of our preferred travel vendors who provide us with promotions and amenities that people can't access on their own," said Ryan. "The best benefit is that you can hand over all the planning and details to us so you can focus on the fun." The agents agree that the hottest destinations right now include Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand, Iceland, Alaska, Cozumel and European river cruising. Added Domingo, "No matter what your budget is, there is always some place new you can explore, and we'd love to help you with that."
