This fall we welcomed a fantastic group of young men into our Temple and in January we initiated 25 gentlemen into Alpha Delta Phi. Since then, these men have thrived in the Chapter House and at the University, not only adding to what we expect here, but continuing this trajectory of becoming a better Chapter every single year. WASHINGTON CHAPTER REMAINS NUMBER ONE Academics have continued to be a highlight for the active Chapter. Over the past few years, the Chapter has achieved the highest overall cumulative GPA of fraternities and we have continued with our trend as top chapter in the winter quarter. This fall, and in support of our literary tradition, we hosted Dr. Robert Stacey, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Professor Stacey had not visited a fraternity at the university; thus, we are extremely fortunate and honored that he had the time to visit with us. The format was in the style of a fire-side chat and included a discussion of the value of study- ing history and an open exchange of questions and ideas. UNDERGRADUATES STRENGTHEN THE BOND Beyond just academics, the Chapter hosted great social events with Homecoming in the fall, the Initiation banquet in January, and the Mother- Son Dance in April. This spring we will be hosting our annual trip to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and our Memorial Day weekend trek to Vantage Washington! In April, we also hosted the annual meeting of the ADPhi International's Board of Governors at the Chapter House. This was a particular honor because the President of the Board of Governors is none other than our own Robert Gilbert '81! WASHINGTON CHAPTER EXTENDS A SPECIAL INVITATION The Eells Cup was held on May 6. I hope you were able to attend this great event. Additionally, the Bubble Bash Auction charitable event was on Saturday, May 18. We are proud to say that Alpha Delta Phi has now raised over $160,000 cumula- tively over the past few years for the Dr. Stanley Stamm Summer Camp, sponsored by Seattle Children's Hospital! The Summer Camp is a spe- cial camp for children with serious medical needs preventing them from having a regular summer experience. We are all very proud of the fact that we have undertaken this valuable charity! EXPANDING RECRUITMENT Lastly, this winter and spring we began our recruitment process, hosting students from afar and near, seeking the best young men to shape the future of our fraternity. Entering freshmen are seeking out Alpha Delta Phi specifically in impressive numbers, giving our recruitment chairmen a fantastic pool to choose from. They will be hard at work through September and we cannot wait to see how this next class comes together. If alumni have recommendations for potential pledges, contact me directly. With that, I hope this gives you better insight into the Chapter! We are very excited for the upcoming fall quarter, and I hope to see many of you at our future events.
