The Needs of Mississippi Beta
A SISTERHOOD IN NEED OF SPACE
With more than 400 collegians, our chapter house can sleep
just 40 members, the lowest of any sorority on campus.
Additionally, the dining room and chapter room cannot
accommodate the larger membership. Sisters cannot eat
together, and many must sit on the floor during chapter
meetings. e inability to meet, eat and study together in
the chapter house negatively impacts the collegiate chapter
experience and membership retention. We must counteract
this by providing more space for our members.
SETTING OURSELVES
APART FROM THE COMPETITION
While Mississippi continues to attract some of the top women,
we know that we are losing quality potential members to other
sororities that offer better facilities. We must also compete with
the amenities offered in newly renovated on-campus residence
halls and off-campus apartments.
e overcrowded chapter room space.
