We are proud of the women who continue to grow through Pi Phi and enjoy watching our sisters enter a new phase in their lives as alumnae. is year, we've continued to excel academically, with a Fall 2018 GPA of 3.52! We had 77 of our members on the Dean's List, the most across all 19 sororities on campus. Along with our phenomenal GPA ranking, members received scholarships, including the Sam Edelman Award for Design and Marketing, the Robert Allen Scholarship for Accounting and the Grady College Study Abroad Scholarship. We also have members who've accepted internships for the UGA Veterinary School in their Educational Resource Center, the Laboratory for Clinical Neuroscience in Madrid, Spain, for Emory's Mood and Anxiety Disorders and many more exciting opportunities. We are so proud of our women and are thrilled for another rewarding semester. Our chapter overflowed in our philanthropy efforts over this past year, with almost 1,000 combined hours supporting our literacy efforts with Read > Lead > AchieveĀ® in the Athens community, one of the most challenged areas in the state of Georgia. Outside of Pi Phi, members participated in over 1,500 service hours, including serving on the executive teams of organizations such as UGA Miracle, UGA HEROs and SWAB. We cannot wait to see what our members do next! In January, we welcomed 17 New Members to our chapter and brought our member total to 275! On March 24, our whole chapter came together for our annual Camp Arrow workshop to start preparing for primary recruitment in the fall. Our members are looking forward to putting on another successful recruitment and meeting all of the Potential New Members! Sisterhood events this spring included a UGA v. Tennessee hockey game at Classic Center, where we dressed up and cheered on the Ice Dawgs as they won 15-0; a Big Hearts pageant for the organization, Extra Special People, which pairs high school special needs kids with college students; and UGA Miracle's Dance Marathon, a 24-hour fundraiser to raise money for the kids of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Pi Phi alone contributed over $18,000 to Miracle's total within just 24 hours! We are so proud of our members' involvements and achievements over just these past few months. Overall, our chapter represents a wide variety of interests, achievements and women who strive for the best out of their sisterhood. We couldn't have asked for better women in our chapter as they continue to make us all proud! We thank our alumnae for their constant support over our 80 years on campus, and we invite you to stop by and see why we love our home on 886 South Milledge Avenue so much. We hope to see you soon!
