Chi Zetagram 2 T im Goss '09 X1922 joined Lambda Chi Alpha as a freshman aer being recruit- ed by a fantastic group of underclass- men and seniors his freshman year. "Some of my best college experiences occurred at the chapter house and our various brotherhood events," Tim said. As an alumnus, he has helped Chi Zeta with updating the website. His biggest advice to undergraduate brothers: "Take advantage of the time you have with Chi Zeta and do what you can to make the most of it. Time flies." STRONG INFLUENCES As an undergraduate, Tim served as an executive board member as well as High Rho. His favorite chapter memories include canoe trip outings, pickup basketball games at the house court, and enjoying the first glimpses of spring weather on the front lawn aer the long and bitter winters in Champaign. Pete Kale '75 X1020 had a great influence on Tim's Chi Zeta experience, both undergraduate and as an alumnus. "Pete's leadership and commitment has been a common theme through a long period of transition. From leading emergency maintenance ef- forts for our home, to kicking off and sustaining the fundraising efforts to make the new chapter house a reality, Pete has been there for all of us." CONNECTIONS THROUGH BROTHERHOOD Tim graduated with a B.A. in history and minor in business, and now leads a business development team at Randstad, the world's largest staffing, recruitment, and HR consult- ing company. "I leverage my recruiting expe- rience and the strong content development and research skills I developed at U of I to help make our sales people successful from behind the scenes," Tim explained. "Liam Weber ['08 X1898] and Tanner Jones ['08 X1848], two brothers who recruited me at Chi Zeta, also recruited me for Randstad aer I graduated!" In his spare time Tim is an avid cook, and he considers himself fortu- nate to work from home—mere steps away from the kitchen! "When I'm not working you'll probably find me baking bread, cooking for my- self and my roommates, or playing basketball." LASTING COMMITMENT TO LAMBDA CHI ALPHA New Board Member Michael Nora '12 X2020 Excited to Serve Chi Zeta A s an undergraduate, Michael Nora '12 X2020 served as house manager, High Alpha, and on the executive committee at large. "As Alpha, I enjoyed working with the alumni Board to solve the chapter's problems," Mike said. "It was an incredible experience to work with the alumni and house officers to ensure the future of Chi Zeta. I knew I would even- tually want to be on the Board to guide younger mem- bers through the fraternity experience." One of Mike's goals as a new Board member is to help connect younger and older alumni. "I would love to strengthen the connection between the LCA generations, so we can provide mentorship and networking opportunities." Another goal he hopes to achieve is re-establishing a scholarship fund for deserving members so financial obligations don't prevent them from enjoying the brotherhood. Mike encourages active chapter members and recent graduates to stay connected with Lambda Chi Alpha for life. "I have been blessed with great college friends who helped develop me into the person I am today. I am even marrying a woman who was president of her sorority at Illi- nois; we met at a presidents' retreat and have been together since. You Sean Chamberlin '14 X2076 Invests in the Future of Lambda Chi Alpha S ean Chamberlin '14 X2076 began his Chi Zeta leadership experience as an undergraduate, serv- ing as both internal vice president and alumni relations officer. Sean admits that it was a very bitter- sweet day when the old chapter house was demolished, but he is now serving the new chapter house and new members as an alumni Board member. "It is my hope that I can help the active chapter get the most out of their experience with Lambda Chi," he said. "My advice to active members would be to get involved in as many things as possible in the chapter," Sean said, looking back on his own journey. "ere are many rewarding experiences that come from your participation." His advice to fellow recent graduates? "Remember the good memories you had with Lambda Chi, and try to give back to the current members so that they can have the same great opportunities." Sean is currently in graduate school studying for a Master's and second- ary education teaching license. "I got into this field because I wanted to help students prepare for whatever comes next in life."
