Fireman e newsletter for alumni and friends of Gamma eta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at Mississippi State University The Spring 2019 W ords cannot describe how proud I am to be a Pike—especially a Gamma Theta member at Mississippi State. Thanks to alumni dedication, generosity, and commitment, 211 of you helped raise $1,348,568 to renovate our home in Starkville. Our goal as a House Corporation is to make the environment as safe as possible while creating an intriguing educational experience by having the leaders within the house act as examples using the great characteristics of a Pike man. In addition to meeting the undergraduate needs and desires, we want a structure where all alumni will feel welcome and proud to visit. Thanks to the A Legendary Past, Ensuring Our Future: Celebrating 90 Years at Mississippi State campaign, our chapter is financially secure and someday we can move forward with renovations from capital reserves, rather than alumni donations. There are several important phases going forward for Pi Kappa Alpha at Mississippi State. First and foremost, for those of you who have not yet completed paying your pledge, please do so according to the schedule outlined on your pledge card to ensure the success of the campaign. Although our capital campaign has come to a close, our need for a connected alumni base has not. Our alumni relations effort is focused on providing various avenues for our members to stay connected and give back to the chapter that gave us so much. It is designed to help our members stay in touch and to cultivate awareness and involvement in Gamma Theta Chapter. There are several elements that are key to the program's success: The Fireman Newsletters We will continue to mail two newsletters each year containing alumni news, information on upcoming events, reports on various chapter activities, and lists of current undergraduate and alumni officers. Annual Support Even though the capital campaign has concluded, our need for your generous donations is still present. The contributions received as a result of biannual appeals not only help sustain our overall alumni relations program but provide funds for a house maintenance reserve fund.
