"It is a blessing to get to know so many great Florida Alphas who have served the Fraternity and made a tremendous impact. Getting to work with Bill Cross '49, Harold Hodge '52 and Dave Hendon '50 when I was Chapter president gave me some great insights into managing our facility and mentoring undergraduates. It was a pleasure being able to return the favor. I got involved as VP for a bit, but quickly moved into the treasurer role where we immediately restructured our rent and parlor fees to pay down the mortgage at the time and install a $150K-plus fire suppression system. I stepped down to focus on my family when the first of two kids were born, and have since gotten involved again with the AVC when we lost our charter. "Losing our charter was such a tragedy," Lee said, "but it brought about a change we needed; to embrace the Balanced Man Program. We are still getting familiar with it, but it is a methodology to focus and improve the personal, academic, leadership, and professional skills our brothers will use to better themselves, their relationships, and their careers. Mistakes happen, but that's just an opportunity to show you can grow and overcome adversity." Lee and Amy have two children, 12-year-old Leo and 10-year-old Sydney. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors, particularly biking. Lee also likes to grill, garden, camp, and hike. Lee lives on Hog- town Creek so there are some trails around the house, but he's always up for biking in Santos near the Ocala National Forest, or hiking the Florida Trail. When he's not enjoying the great outdoors, Lee works in the Workday ecosystem, focusing pri- marily on higher education, government, and non-profits as a solution architect. His current cli- ents are WGBH, which produces about 40% of the content for PBS, like NOVA and the Antique Roadshow, as well as the University of Miami, "who will not know what hit them after they play the Gators in Orlando." Lee Catledge '90 (Continued from page 1) UF HOMECOMING October 5, 2019 Alumni Mondays T he Chapter has begun a se- ries of Alumni Mondays, on the second Monday of each month during the school year, with a dinner at the Chapter House. This gives all of us – the alumni and the active broth- ers – an opportunity to get to know each other. It also gives alumni the opportunity to learn more about the active Chapter and to attend the Chap- ter meeting if they wish. In addition, it is a way for the active brothers to let alumni know how much their investment in the future of Florida Alpha is appreciated. Brother Hayden Grim '19 said of the first Alumni Monday, "Florida Alpha's first alumni dinner was an extremely valuable experience for the Chapter. It was a great opportunity to con- nect with the five alumni that came. We chatted over dinner, gave house tours, and attended Sigma Rite of Passage together. A few alumni chose to stay for the Chapter meeting which covered several of our initiatives." Be sure to get on our email list to learn more and stay connected.
