10.75" 3 KAPPA ALPHA THETA H A s we prepare to welcome a new class of graduating seniors into alumnae status, we thought it would be special to hear from some of them on how the sorority has impacted their fu- tures—and we are so glad we asked! It is empowering to hear how our sisterhood matters in the lives of these young women. We think you will agree! Anna Jaoudi '15__________________________________ "Theta has prepared me for post-grad life by giving me confidence and courage! During college, the other women in Theta empowered me to do things on campus I otherwise would have never dreamed of doing. I have received the most supportive and loving women who believed in me to leave Mizzou better than I found it. To this day, the decision to join Theta has been one of the best decisions I've ever made." Alex Kickert '15__________________________________ "Theta has prepared me in so many ways! I have grown professionally and personally through being a part of this wonderful organization and have gained so many connections and friend- ships. The resources that have been shared with me and the skills that have been taught by my peers have made me a very well-developed college graduate. "For a long time, I was worried about my future and how I would be successful. Having been around so many wonderful people, the support I have received from my friends has made me confident in myself, and the support they have given to my passion for nursing has made me more comfortable about the future challenges and success of my career. My Theta sisters have given me so much, and I could not be more thankful to be a part of Kappa Alpha Theta!" Gretchen Metzger '15_____________________________ "Theta is preparing me for post-grad life through the mentorships and friendships that have pushed me to be confident in my future. I am so thankful for the women in member classes above me that gave me advice about my internship last summer and now my upcoming job this fall. Their guidance and encouragement mean the world. Theta has taught me essential skills and in- stilled a confidence in me that will follow me throughout my career. I am so thankful for women who taught me how to be kind and purposeful and intellectual all at the same time." Bree Minger '15__________________________________ "So often, alumnae have reached out and offered to help me in the job search. I'm so grateful to know Theta will always be there to help me in the next steps throughout my life." (Gamma Iota) Sophie Smith, St. Louis, Mo. (Gamma Tau) Welcome to the Siterhood! treating it to maximize its lifespan, we finally had to remove it last month for fear it would damage the Evans Schol- ar house, a car, or a pedestrian. For the remaining trees, our hope is for lifes- pans of between 5 and 12 more years. Replacement will be on a cycle so that most of the trees look full and mature with only one sapling at a time. The success of this plan mostly will depend upon the harshness of our seasons. I have always been extremely proud of our house. I was not a member of the FCB when the renovations were being planned and executed, but I was always impressed when opening the newsletter and reading about the ren- ovations and plans for the future. Since joining the FCB last year, my ad- miration has grown exponentially. The amount of planning and work that goes into not only running and maintaining the house on a monthly basis, but also in executing a major capital campaign and renovation, is incredible. Those sisters on the FCB who have volunteered their time, talents, and treasure to this massive undertaking deserve our heartfelt gratitude. I'm excited for what lies ahead.
