Raising Cane's special program is 11 years old and
helps kids set goals, save money, spend money and
share with a favorite charity. They learn all aspects
of running a small business from making a pretty
stand to marketing their brand.

Here are some ideas to help
you sell your lemonade.
• Make sure you have a sign with the price. Your
adult can help you decide on a price so you will
have enough to pay for the supplies needed to
make the lemonade.
• Try and set up under a tree for shade. You
won't get too hot and your ice won't melt fast.
• Make a big colorful sign so people in the
neighborhood can see you are selling lemonade
when they drive by. (If you are under a tree,
maybe you can hang the sign from a limb.)
• Make a colorful banner and staple it to some
string, then hang it from your table or stand.
• Balloons work well for getting attention.
• Ask a brother or sister or friend to help. It can
be fun with a partner.

National Lemonade Day is May
4 in the Northwest Arkansas
Area. Some businesses help
kids learn about running
a lemonade stand from
programs like Raising Cane's
Lemonade Day.
What you do need is the recipe
for lemonade, so here it is!
Here is a list of what you need:
• 6 lemons
• 1 cup sugar
• 6 cups cold water
Ask your adult to help you cut the lemons in half and use
the spoon or a juicer to get all the juice out of each half.
It's okay to get some of the pulp in the pitcher, but use the
spoon to get any seeds out. Make sure you squeeze the
rind and get as much juice as you can.
• Add the sugar and mix until the sugar is dissolved.
• Add the cold water, and give it a mix with your spoon.
Make sure you have a sample taste because you may
need to add a little more water or sugar or lemon juice. It
helps if you like what you are selling so you can talk to your
customers about it.
• Ice and a small cooler
• Juicer or spoon
• Pitcher & cups
