Page 4 Purdue ΣAE Sets Impressive List of Goals to Strengthen the Brotherhood T his spring at Indiana Beta has been filled with great accomplishments in many areas. We welcomed 18 new members and are excited at the prospect of them learning ΣAE's core values to becoming True Gentlemen. I'm excited to see what this new class will bring to the house in the future. RISING ACADEMICS In addition, we have worked hard academically since the fall and have raised our chapter GPA from a 2.86 to a 3.0. Our members are highly dedicated and we expect this number to continue growing. In addition, 23 ΣAEs placed on the Dean's List coming in to the spring semester. PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS Due to inclement weather, we haven't had many recent projects this semester, but for the rest of the school year we have many events planned to raise our goal of at least $10,000. This coming fall semester we also have a major concert in the works in memory of the Tyler Trent to benefit the Tyler Trent Cancer Research Endowment. We most recently participated in Big Man on Campus in which we placed in the top 10 and won the Spirit Award. Approximately $21,000 was raised last semester by our chapter alone. Of that amount, roughly $8,000 went to Summit for Soldiers and the remaining $13,000 went to PUDM. GOAL SETTING Indiana Beta has set some amazing goals for this semester. • Further develop a continual member education process to instill a work ethic with overall integrity to form True Gentlemen and leaders better prepared for success both on and off campus. • Continue raising competitive amount of philanthropic dollars for a Greek organization on Purdue's campus. • Reinvest in the Indiana Beta alumni through special events and newsletters, updating them of chapter and Purdue related information. • Increase the community service hours dedicated to Greater Lafayette area organizations, as well as various types of abroad programs, through further communication with Purdue and the local community. • Further motivate active members to pursue individual opportunities on campus and outside of the fraternity in an effort to continually improve Indiana Beta's presence in Purdue and local organizations. This event aided in the $21,000 raised last semester. The ΣAE volleyball team was a finalist in the Greek Olympics to support Purdue University Dance Marathon last fall.
