4 Lyre Notes H ello from the Alpha Nu collegians! My name is Jordyn Eskijian and I currently serve as chapter president on the 2019 executive board. I am honored to have the opportunity to connect with you and share the accomplishments of our sisters! These amazing and strong women excel on campus, in the classroom and in our local community. We have an extraordinary sisterhood filled with exceptional women who inspire me every day through their determination and eagerness to Seek the Heights. If you visit the University of Missouri, you will find Alpha Chis leading organizations across campus. This year, we have members on Tour Team, Campus Outreach, Student Ministries, ROTC, Club Lacrosse, Golden Girls, Mizzou Alternative Breaks, Global Brigades, business fraternities, service fraternities and more. We are proud of two members who were selected for the Panhellenic Association Executive Board. Alex Wilkinson '16 serves as vice president of recruitment external and Simone Esters '16 is vice president of programming. We are very proud of our sisters and their passionate, active involvement. Alpha Nu continues to focus on academic excellence and attained an overall chapter GPA of 3.39 for the fall 2018 semester. More than 70 percent of our members were recognized on the Dean's List for their respective colleges and an impressive 20 women achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA. I also am proud to report that the pairing of Alpha Chi Omega and Phi Delta Theta resulted in a third-place overall finish for Homecoming 2018. Our members have maintained a strong devotion to our philanthropic beneficiary, True North. This local shelter provides comprehensive care for women, children and men who have experienced domestic violence. In October, we held two very successful philanthropy events: Burgers and Fries with Alpha Chi's, a late-night dinner where we served burgers, fries and all the fixings, and Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, where men signed up to run in a relay race while wearing the wedge heel shoes members wore during recruitment! Thanks to our wonderful philanthropy committee and generous donations from alumnae, family, friends and the community, we were able to raise over $27,000 to benefit True North. We have so much to look forward to this spring and we are excited to see where the semester takes us. Alumnae and sisters, on behalf of Alpha Nu, thank you for your continued love and support. Please visit our website at www. mizzouaxo.com for regular updates and follow us on Instagram at @alphachimizzou to see what what's happening with our sisters! As always, feel free to stop by our home anytime— nothing would make us happier than to share our experiences with you!
