PAGE 2 Alpha Beta Chapter you feel good; and the "I am" Campaign where we recognize our favorite nonphysical attributes. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Our chapter also went above and beyond with service this semester. Tri Council debuted a new initiative replacing Greeks Give Back where chapter members could choose to volunteer at a variety of service events in the Ithaca community throughout the semester, and awarded each chapter based on their level of participation. In September, I volunteered with my roommates to help build an inclusive and accessible playground in Stewart Park, but other opportunities included Into the Streets, Halloween at Southside, and more! I am so proud to say that our chapter reached 98% participation, the highest in the Panhellenic Council (PHC). I have been so impressed with the commitment of our members and I can't wait to see how we continue this semester. ALPHA BETA ON PHC Last, but not least, to finish recapping last semester I am excited to announce that two of our members have been elected to the Panhellenic Council Executive Board. Samantha Lee '21 and Maya Cutforth '20 will be serving as the vice president and president, respectively, of university and community relations. We can't wait to see how they will positively shape the future of PHC! SPRING HAS SPRUNG This semester has already been off to a great start, with a successful recruitment and a very informative trip to the Collegiate Leadership Conference in Dallas, but we still have so much to come. We held our St. Jude Week in March where we raised money and awareness for St. Jude through our annual Choppeddd competition, and of course Sincerely Yours. We also have the Polar Plunge, benefiting Special Olympics New York, and Relay for Life to look forward to later in this packed semester! Thank you to all of the alumnae who continue to support us. We look forward to seeing you at 118 Triphammer over Reunion Weekend, or anytime you're back in Ithaca. Our doors are always open! As a refresher, Cornell is continuing its work to create a safe and thriving atmosphere on campus for individuals who choose to participate in Greek life. Tri Delta, like most Panhellenic sororities, already has many efforts in place, including having an adult living in the house as a house director/house mom, as well as ensuring the chapter has policies and procedures in place to protect all sisters and new members. As part of recruitment this year, all potential new Greek members went through training (see the CALC article for more details). The Office of Greek Life is encouraging more upper-class officers to live in the house as well. Our current Alpha Beta undergraduates are doing a beautiful job putting plans in place to meet these requirements and gently pushing back and asking for alternatives where the requirements are overly restrictive. The chapter will change up its slating process so that the nominating slate is determined in the fall and new officers have enough lead time to make decisions about living in the house for the following year. You should continue to be proud and enthusiastic supporters of our collegiate members as they are really living up to the spirit of Tri Delta! There is also an initiative at Cornell to encourage all sophomores to live on campus; living in a Greek house will meet that requirement. This, too, will help our chapter as it encourages and enables more sisters to live in the house over the years. You A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE (Continued from page 1) (Continued on page 3)
