Brendi Gale, RN, Northwest Medical
Center-Bentonville Trauma Coordinator,
was recognized on April 9th as one of the
"Great 100 Nurses" for the state of Arkansas.
Her nominator, Mickey Stout, Director for
Emergency Services for Northwest Health,
cited both her work with patients and families
in the hospital as well as her community service.
In the Emergency Department, Gale's
"empathy and compassion is displayed when
she is dealing with families struggling with
difficult circumstances, keeping comfort for
them a priority at all times," according to
Stout.
Additionally, in the community, Gale
partnered with Bentonville High School Ignite
students, the Emergency Nurses Association,
Northwest Health, and the Centerton Fire
Department to develop a "wake-up call" for the
students. The focus was on distracted driving
by teenage drivers. The docu-drama featured
a "fatal car crash" resulting in the death of two
students and a family member. This garnered
both local and national visibility with a feature
article in the Emergency Nurses Association
(ENA) magazine.
