Influ- enced by her friends to go through recruitment, she chose Kappa Delta because she wanted to be friends with the Kappa Alpha girls she met. "ey were so nice, beautiful, and fun to be around." Once a member, Lisa quickly developed close friendships with many of her sisters. "e friendships I have made with Kappa Delta are the ones I cherish most in my life." Her Kappa Alpha friendships have continued af- ter college and into adulthood, with many being reinvigorated thanks to Facebook and the inter- net. Many of their children are now college-aged and going through recruitment, and Lisa enjoys seeing their children and legacies developing those friendships she knows will last a lifetime. Her Kappa Delta granddaughter's daughter has even pledged Kappa Delta! In recent years, Lisa's sisters have been extra im- portant to her as they've supported her through a cancer diagnosis. Having the support of her sisters has made her treatments much more bearable, and for that she is grateful. Lisa oen reflects on her favorite undergraduate memories. "One of my most special memories was being picked up by my Kappa Alpha boyfriend to go to the Old South formal with all of their flags, uniforms and horses. Such a special event that I will always remember. at night I was given the title of Kappa Alpha Rose." Because Kappa Delta has given her the gi of lifelong friendships, Lisa has generously donated to Kappa Alpha's Ensuring a Tradition of Excel- lence: e Vision for Kappa Alpha's Future cam- paign in support of Chapter House renovations. Lisa Dart Waddell '86 Thankful for Kappa Delta Friendships "I chose to donate and participate in the house foundation because I want our children and their children to enjoy the gi of sisterhood. I lived in the house and developed a stronger bond than if I hadn't lived there. I encourage all my sisters to donate what you feel comfortable with giving to support the renovations needed for the Kappa Delta house at Florida State University." Lisa majored in marketing at FSU and became a pharmaceutical sales representative for over 23 years, giving her many opportunities to travel the country and ultimately retire early. She en- joys attending FSU football games and being in the champions club, and recently enjoyed attend- ing the champions club with the "Kappa Delta Ladies of the '80s." Lisa and her husband and Kappa Alpha boyfriend, Jim, have two children: Nicholas and Mary Catherine. Nicholas is getting his Ph.D. in molecular biology at FSU and Mary Catherine is a freshman at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania where she plays soball. "I believe that a friend is a gi you give yourself and Kappa Delta is a gi that has brought me so much joy and love." You can connect with Lisa on Facebook or at lisa- jimwaddell@gmail.com.
