THETA IOTA BOOSTS ACADEMICS AND PHILANTHROPY THIS SPRING (Continued from page 1) COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT The sisters of Theta Iota stay involved with the community and our campus. We are involved in numerous activities and clubs, including KSU Student Foundation, cheerleading, Classy Cats, Manhappenin' Magazine, ambassadors for cor- responding colleges, and many more. Jordan Devorak '17 was elected the vice president of finance for Panhellenic Council. PHILANTHROPY In 2018, we raised a grand total of $76,717 through four events for our philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Last semester, we held a new philanthropy event called "10K in a Day." Our goal was to reach $10,000 in 24 hours based on promotions through social media. We reached this goal within two hours, and at the end of the 24-hour period, we raised $39,000! With the new semester, we are dedicated to rais- ing more than the previous year. Philanthropy Chairman Sidney Lawyer '17 completed her first event on February 20. Sincerely Yours in- cluded a pajama party with doughnuts, Red Bull, and music as we addressed letters to our families and friends to raise money for the children at St. Jude. Later this spring we will host Drive Thru for St. Jude with the help of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. We will also help Delta Sigma Phi in their philanthropy, Delta Sig Dogs, on April 14 supporting Purple PAWS. SPRING EVENTS On February 23-24, we welcomed our mothers to our second home for Mom's Weekend. Mem- ber Development Chairman Dani McEwen '17 planned a weekend full of fun. We had a painting event at Tri Delta, and some decided to take their moms to the basketball game for a Wildcat win! On Sunday, we had a brunch and silent auction to conclude the weekend. We will conclude the semester with our spring formal on April 13. We The Golden Crescent Top left: Sincerely Yours philanthropy event.
