Creekside park Creekside Park is a feature park in the city of Farmington and will be receiving several significant upgrades this year. e park already contains a walking trail, playground, basketball court, volleyball pit, and pavilion. e expansion project will include a new pavilion and playground, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, upgraded bathroom facilities, new parking lot with over 100 spaces, extended walking trail and sidewalks, and landscaping, as well as several other added amenities like barbecue grills and bleachers. ere will also be renovations to park lighting, trail lighting, and drainage systems. Creekside Park will soon be beautifully renovated and will become an ideal area to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. Fall Festival e first Farmington Fall Festival was held last year and was sponsored by the city's Economic Development Committee, as well as other local organizations. ere were a wide range of activities offered, such as pony rides, live music, food vendors, an art show, games, cra projects, and face painting. e Farmington Garden Club was also there to hand out free daffodil bulbs for residents to plant, and provide the community with colorful flowers in the springtime. FreedomFest Farmington's annual FreedomFest is hosted by the Farmington Kiwanis Club and celebrates the July 4th holiday every year. e festival features free food and drink, supplied by local churches, as well as bouncy houses for the kids, music, raffles and giveaways. And of course, no July 4th celebration would be complete without an impressive fireworks display. back to School bonanza Every year Farmington has a Back to School Bonanza for kids from preschool to 12th grade, and aims to provide various items to students that will help to prepare them for the upcoming school year. e event is held at Farmington United Methodist Church and provides for hundreds of students from around the area. e variety of services provided include free dental screenings, haircuts, shoes, socks, backpacks, and even dinner for the families to take home. is event has become a source of pride for the community as it continues to grow and provide for so many students in not only Farmington, but surrounding communities as well. ▼ ▼ attraCtions & amenities Creekside Park FreedomFest Back to School Bonanza 10 – 2019 West Washington County Directory
