e Battle of Prairie Grove which occurred in 1862. Now known as Battlefield State Park, the battlefield remains one of most intact battle sites and has been nationally recognized for this. Battlefield Park is also within walking distance of the city's historic downtown area, which has recently become a part of Main Street Arkansas.
