February 20, 2019 ww.DesertMessenger.com 7 Ladies meet for Lunch monthly A group of ladies getting together to "do lunch" sounded like a great idea to organizer Lynda Goldberg and her friends last summer. Well, the ladies have been gathering the 1st Tuesday of the month for lunch at various lo- cal restaurants ever since. The ladies order off the menu and share a little bit about themselves or current events. It's been a great way for newcomers to meet others. Tuesday, MARCH 5th the Ladies Lunch will again be held at Grub- stake Grill at noon. The Grubstake is located at 725 N. Central (Hwy. 95), Quartzsite. For other events check out Quartzsite Chatter on Facebook. letters to the editor Opinions expressed in letters to the editor do not necessarily represent those of the Desert Messenger. THANKS FROM DESERT FLYERS The Quartzsite Desert Flyers wish to thank the community of Quartzsite for it's support of our Fun Fly and Air Show held earlier this month. The attendance repre- sented 27 states and four provinces. A thank you to the out of town pi- lots and crews from Kingman, Lake Havasu City, Yuma, Tim Johnson from Aguila, Az. / Owatonna, MN who flew the jet and to Dave Sul- livan from Sacramento, California. We particularly wish to thank the Town Council and Administration for their attendance and support. The VFW Post 769 also needs a thank you for providing the mo- bile canteen and their Junior Color Guard. A thank you to the town mainte- nance department, The Desert Mes- senger, the pilots and crews and the volunteers necessary to put on the events and to Kym Scott, who sup- plied the equipment and supplies needed to lay out the parking lot. A very special thank you again to the spectators for all your support; without it the event wouldn't have a purpose and just wouldn't be nec- essary. Thank You. Quartzsite Desert Flyers BLUES FESTIVAL NEXT MONTH I am so excited to announce the 6th Annual Colorado River Blues Festival is less than a month away.
